Last night's Lip Sync was totally awesome! Every performance brought incredible energy, creativity, and plenty of laughs, but congratulations go to Equinox cabin, who took first place with their performance of Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N' Roses!
This morning everyone enjoyed an extra 45 minutes of sleep, though the Polar Bears still seemed just as loud as ever. Breakfast was eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, and, of course, cinnamon rolls as a special treat.
Community Work Time looked a little different today. Along with their usual cabin jobs, campers helped track down the owners of all the mysterious treasures that have made their way into Lost & Found. Afterward came Poster Time, when campers created appreciation posters for their counselors. (Don't worry, counselors return the favor with posters for every camper on Closing Day!)
The rest of the morning was filled with Soccerama and tie-dye. While some campers competed in fast-paced soccer matches, others helped everyone create colorful tie-dye masterpieces to take home.
Meanwhile, our oldest campers in Capstone headed out on Homeward Bound. Armed with nothing more than a compass, a heading, a radio, and a box of Goldfish crackers to keep them going, they navigated their way back to camp. They checked in over the radio every five minutes and made it back in record time!
Lunch was quite the feast, with grilled cheese sandwiches, lasagna, roasted carrots, and our ever-present salad bar stocked with fresh local vegetables.
As I write this, Waterama is underway at the waterfront, where campers are splashing, paddling, and competing for a few final points before the Greek Team champion is crowned. Around camp, staff are making one last sweep through Lost & Found while our more artistic campers and counselors transform the dining hall into a far-out 70s disco celebration for tonight's Thanksgiving dinner. It's going to be groovy!
After sharing a Thanksgiving feast and raising a toast to family, friends, and this place we call home, we'll gather for Closing Ceremony. We'll recognize our dedicated Polar Bears, celebrate campers returning for their fifth summer, and honor campers who have stood out as leaders throughout the session. Then we'll finish the night the only way we know how: with a dance party!
