Hello HP families,

Black River session is officially underway, and camp is already full of laughter, energy, and new connections.

Campers arrived yesterday to sunny skies, warm welcomes, and a classic first-night dinner: spaghetti. After settling into their cabins and reconnecting with old friends or meeting new ones, our first-time campers were sorted into their Greek teams — Athens, Sparta, Corinth, or Thebes — with the help of Zeus during our spirited Sorting Ceremony. Team pride is already shining through.

This morning began with a special treat. Freshly baked muffins were delivered to each cabin even before breakfast. Today is our first full day of camp, and campers are jumping into the electives they chose last night, from nature crafts to bull frog hunting. While we are not starting focus areas just yet, today includes swim checks at the waterfront to help keep everyone safe during all our lake adventures.

We are so excited to have this amazing group here for Black River, and we will be sharing more stories, photos, and camp magic with you soon.
