Today our campers woke up to perfect camp weather! Not a single cloud in the sky greeted them as they climbed the hill to breakfast. Today is Link Day, a special day that gives everyone a chance to slow down, recharge, and enjoy a more relaxed pace before another exciting week of camp begins.
We started the day with House Cup competitions taking place all over camp. Campers competed in everything from wildflower arranging and running races to ping pong tournaments. There truly was something for everyone, whether they preferred athletic challenges, creative contests, or cheering on their teammates.
For lunch, we enjoyed delicious pita wraps with chicken or curried chickpeas, topped with a refreshing mint tzatziki sauce.
The afternoon has been all about our chill electives. Campers signed up to relax at the waterfront, watch a movie in the theater, or play games on the soccer field. It has been the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful weather and spend time with friends.
After electives, everyone will gather at the waterfront for our annual Call of the Loon race! This exciting canoe relay features our oldest campers racing across the pond while the rest of camp cheers them on from the shore. It's always one of the highlights of Link Day, bringing plenty of excitement, teamwork, and school spirit.
Tonight, we'll wrap up the day with one of camp's favorite traditions: our BBQ Beach Party! Everyone will head down to the waterfront for dinner before ending the evening around a big bonfire with songs, stories, and time together by the lake. It's the perfect way to celebrate a beautiful Link Day before another week of camp adventures begins.
