76 Hosmer Point Ln.
Craftsbury Common, VT
Hosmer Point Camp is in the Northeastern region of Vermont, not far south of the Canadian border.
While Internet or GPS based mapping systems do a great job to direct one to the Craftsbury area, we recommend using our detailed directions below for navigation within 5 miles of camp (from Hardwick North or Irasburg South).
From Route 14, take a right turn at the "Craftsbury Outdoor Center 6 miles" sign (South Craftsbury Road). Pass through Craftsbury Village, go up a hill, through the village of Craftsbury Common (a collection of white houses at the top of the hill). Sterling College is on your left in the common, the Post Office and Craftsbury Academy are on your right. Continue out of town approximately 3/4 mile past the Common, and look for a yellow curve sign. As the sign indicates, the pavement curves to the left, you want to bear right off the pavement and follow the "Craftsbury Outdoor Center" signs (staying on Mill Village Road). Continue winding on the dirt road for just under 1.25 miles and turn right onto Lost Nation Road. The entrance to the camp is located approximately 1.8 miles on the left. You will pass the Craftsbury Outdoor Center on the left and continue another mile or so until you come to an opening in the trees with a Hosmer Point sign. Check-in is in at the top of the hill.

Burlington International Airport (BTV) is the closest airport, 90 minutes away. We are happy to pick up and drop off campers on closing or opening days. Please complete a transportation form at least two weeks in advance if you would like to use this service. It is especially important to plan well in advance if your child will be flying as an unaccompanied minor. Please see the Parent Handbook for more information on planning arrival and departure times.
If you are travelling with your child, several other airports are with driving distance:
- Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is about 2.5 hours away. Travel in or to Canada requires a passport.
- Manchester (NH) Regional Airport (MHT) is about 3 hours away.
- Boston's Logan International (BOS) is about 4 hours away
Bus and Train Service:
Greyhound bus service is available to Burlington, however these routes usually require changing buses and can be quite slow. Amtrak offers one train per day to northern Vermont, with Waterbury being the closest stop. While bus and train can be good travel options for counselors, minors younger than 15 are not allowed to travel without an adult.
