Good morning from the hill! Day 2 of Bayley Hazen has us fully launched into the rhythm of camp life, and there's already so much to share.
We started our morning with a camper-favorite breakfast: pancakes and sausage, served up hot and fluffy to power us through the exciting first full day of programming.
Today marked the launch of Focus Areas—the core of our morning schedule where campers dive deep into something they’re excited to explore all week. With so many unique options, there’s truly something for everyone. Campers are learning skills, trying new things, and having a blast in areas like Project Runway, Guitar, Advanced Sailing, Beginner Sculling, Advanced Mountain Biking, Field Games, Farm & Garden, Camping at Camp, SLIME WEEK, Woodworking, Photography, Softcore, Lifeguard Training, Nature Living, Anime!, Embroidery, Printmaking, BUILD, Country Club, and Holesx3. From sailing and trail rides to fashion design and slime science, the energy was high across camp this morning.
This afternoon, our first round of Electives gave campers the chance to switch gears and try something totally new for an hour. From musical theater and x-treme bocci to paper airplanes, cozy crafts at HP Café, and even the ever-popular grass nap, there was something for every mood and pace.
Last night, after a delicious Meatless Monday dinner, the entire camp came together for a beloved Hosmer Point evening tradition: Stones! This camp-wide capture-the-flag-style game divides campers into four Compass Teams—North, South, East, and West—which they join during their very first Bayley Hazen session and stick with for life.
The competition was intense, the strategies were bold, and the spirit was sky-high. After all was said and done, Team South came out on top and is currently leading the race for the Compass Cup.
We’re only on day two, but it already feels like the start of something special. Campers are connecting with each other, leaning into new experiences, and soaking up every minute of this incredible place.
More to come soon—stay tuned!
