Saturdays at camp are something special—and today was no exception! Known as LINK Day, it’s our built-in pause from the regular rhythm of electives and focus areas, giving campers a chance to recharge, reconnect, and dive into a whole different kind of fun.
We kicked off the morning with a classic: bagels and lox for breakfast. A perfect, laid-back start that set the tone for a relaxed but exciting day ahead.
Instead of our usual schedule, the morning was all about the Compass Cup, a spirited competition where North, South, East, and West face off in a wide array of games and challenges. From board games and flower arranging to Koob (the always-popular block tossing game), boat relays, running, and more—it was a morning packed with energy, laughter, and friendly rivalry. We'll find out which direction comes out on top tomorrow!
After the games, every cabin got to take their official summer yearbook photo—a favorite tradition and a great keepsake of this summer’s memories.
Lunch featured a delicious and filling meal of chicken and vegetarian shawarma, giving everyone the fuel they needed for an afternoon of free choice activities, including the ever-popular waterslide.
Later this afternoon brings one of the biggest events of LINK Day: the much-anticipated Call of the Loon. This giant relay race is a wild mix of skill and teamwork, featuring stand-up paddleboarding, archery, fire building, soccer, tennis, and more. It’s one of those events campers talk about all year long.
Tonight, we’ll wrap up with a special presentation from our counselors, who will be unveiling their focus areas for the second week of the session. We can’t wait to see what creative and exciting ideas they’ve been planning!
Stay tuned for more updates—especially tomorrow’s Compass Cup results. Until then, we’re soaking in every moment of this unforgettable Saturday at camp.
